January Jones, 'Mad Men's' Betty, eats her baby's placenta
It isn't quite as gory as it sounds, but it is true: "Mad Men" star January Jones did ingest the placenta of her son Xander to make sure she was "eating well" when she returned to work after giving birth."I have a great doula who makes sure I'm eating well, with vitamins and teas, and with placenta capsulation," she tells People, explaining that the process introduced by her birthing coach involves the placenta getting "dehydrated and made into vitamins."
"It's something I was very hesitant about, but we're the only mammals who don't ingest our own placentas," she insisted. "It's not witchcrafty or anything! I suggest it to all moms!"
Jones has officially risen to the top of Zap2it's list of celebrities who ingest gross things. The title was previously held by Keith Richards, who admitted to snorting his dad's cremated remains.
