'Hawaii Five-0's' Alex O'Loughlin seeks treatment, show goes on
Realizing that he's become a bit too attached to the pain medication prescribed after a shoulder injury, "Hawaii Five-0" star Alex O'Loughlin is taking a break from the CBS drama to seek treatment. The sophomore show will continue shooting without O'Loughlin. Currently on Episode 20 of the season, the actor will be absent for at least one episode.
"We respect and support Alex's decision," says the production company statement. "Everyone at CBS Television Studios and 'Hawaii Five-0' wishes him well and we look forward to his return."
O'Loughlin has been a favorite of the network since his first series for it, the vampire drama "Moonlight," in 2007. He went on to star on the short-lived medical show "Three Rivers" in 2009 before the "Hawaii Five-0" reboot took off in 2010.
