William Shatner is about to turn 80 and today is International Talk Like William Shatner Day. You ... know what ... we ... mean? Today is the day to put strange pauses into your sentences and stretch out random words like the man who played Captain Kirk on "Star Trek."

International Talk Like William Shatner Day was started by both Doug VanHorn of Columbus, Ohio, and Maurice LaMarche, a voice over actor from "Futurama." They wanted to honor the enigma wrapped in a mystery that is the speech pattern of William Shatner. (And the man himself, of course.) To do this, we all get to imitate him on his birthday.
