Duggars' mom, Michelle, says overpopulation is a lie

"19 Kids and Counting" star Michelle Duggar isn't worried about her brood's impact on the environment because, as she told the Christian Broadcasting Network, "the idea of overpopulation is not accurate."

She says overpopulation simply doesn't exist -- "it's not true, it's a lie" -- because the entire world's population could fit inside the city limits of Jacksonville, Fla.

"I agree with Mother Teresa when she said, 'to say that there are too many children is like saying there are too many flowers,'" Duggar says.

She goes on to say that her family shops second-hand stores and buys used cars to offset their impact. But props to Jezebel for pointing out that "a family of three or four would practically have to prance around throwing a trail of styrofoam packing peanuts in their wake to leave the same sort of carbon footprint that the Duggars leave."
