The music world is mourning the loss of The Monkees singer Davy Jones, who passed away on February 29th at the age of 66. We're learning new things about him as he's been remembered by dear friends and band mates. We even learned that he turned down a spot on "Dancing With the Stars" last year. Now, we've learned the official cause of his death.According to TMZ, the official cause of Jones' death was a heart attack. An autopsy was performed by the Marin County Medical Examiner and doctors determined that he passed away from an abnormal heart rhythm caused by coronary artery atherosclerosis, which translates to a heart attack.
Though the Medical Examiner has yet to release a toxicology report, all indications point to a simple cause of death. Jones had been complaining of shortness of breath before he passed away. Rest in peace, Davy.
