Brad Pitt, George Clooney and other A-listers perform Prop. 8 play [VIDEO]

bardd-pitt-8-cbs.jpgMany of Hollywood's A-listers got together on Saturday (March 3) for the West Coast premiere reading of the play "8," which reenacts the court case regarding California's gay marriage ban. For those who weren't able to attend or would just like to see the performance, the full play is up on YouTube.

Brad Pitt, George Clooney,  Martin Sheen and others performed at the one-night only benefit. In an interesting casting twist, openly gay actors Jane Lynch and George Takei played characters who are opposed to gay marriage.

Political activist Sheen, who plays attorney Theodore B. Olson, explains to CBS why it was important for him to be associated with the project. He says, "A segment of our population is being dehumanized."

The play, which was written by Dustin Lance Black (writer, "Milk" and "J. Edgar"), was directed by Rob Reiner and also featured Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Chris Colfer, Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Bacon.
