Are Josh Hutcherson and Emma Roberts a couple? Sources say: No!

Now that Josh Hutcherson is the lead of what's poised to become one of the biggest film franchises ever, it's only natural that rumors have begun to swirl about his love life. Here's one we can shoot down right off the bat: Hutcherson is not dating Emma Roberts.

The two young actors were photographed on Thursday night hanging out at Spin, a ping-pong club in NYC. Yes -- apparently ping-pong clubs are a thing. They appeared to be flirting outside the door, but sources close to Hutcherson tell Zap2it that it was a purely platonic hang-out.

Both actors are set to star in the title roles of "Aaron and Sarah," Neil Patrick Harris' directorial debut, which was announced all the way back in October 2010. The film spans four years of high school, including four proms -- and a funeral. No word yet on a release date.

Roberts recently ended her relationship with "Glee" star Chord Overstreet.
