Will Ferrell's Old Milwaukee Super Bowl ad airs only in North Platte, NE

While advertisers spent as much as $3.5 million for a 30-second spot during Sunday's (Feb. 5) Super Bowl, Old Milwaukee took a completely different approach. They went cheap.

Deadspin is reporting that the beer maker debuted a new ad featuring comedian Will Ferrell that aired only in North Platte, NE (pop. 24,733). Because it was only broadcast in the 209th-largest media market, this certainly helped keep costs down.

As for the ad itself, it features Ferrell walking through amber waves of grain to symphonic music. The funny man then stops, catches a beer and gets in almost all of the tag line.
