Whitney Houston: Water found in lungs, coroner rules out foul play

whitney-houston-getty-dead.jpgWhile the cause of death is still under investigation in the passing of Whitney Houston, TMZ is reporting that water was found in the lungs of the late pop singer.

Houston was found unconscious in a bathtub at a Beverly Hills hotel Saturday (Feb. 11). Efforts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful. TMZ adds that while there was water in Houston's lungs, it's not yet known whether this was a led to her death or whether the water entered her lungs after she died.

The Los Angeles County coroner would not comment on the cause of death other than to say there was no foul play, The Wrap says.

"There are reports she maybe was drowned, or overdosed, but we won't make a final determination until all the tests are in," says Ed Winter, the chief coroner of L.A. County.

Toxicology results will be released in 4-6 weeks.
