Whitney Houston funeral: Aretha Franklin no longer attending

aretha-franklin-getty-white.jpgOne music legend had been scheduled to honor another when Aretha Franklin had agreed to sing at the funeral for Whitney Houston Saturday (Feb. 18). But now it looks as though that is no longer the case.

The Associated Press is reporting that a source close to the Houston family tells them Franklin can no longer attend the funeral because she is sick. A revised program for the service lists Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys and R. Kelly as the performers.

Roughly 1500 guests are expected to pack the private funeral service, held in Whitney's childhood house of worship, the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, N.J. Whitney really got her performing start at the church, singing in the choir as a girl.

The funeral has allowed one AP camera inside and it will be streamed live on the web and broadcast on CNN.
