President Obama sends his 'thoughts and prayers' to Whitney Houston's family
Just because Barack Obama happens to be the President of the United States doesn't mean he wasn't affected by Whitney Houston's death on Feb. 11.According to E! Online, the President is keeping Houston's family, especially her 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, in mind. "I know that his thoughts and prayers are with her family, especially her daughter," White House press secretary Jay Carney says. "It's a tragedy to lose somebody so talented at such a young age."
Although Carney isn't sure if Obama and Houston had ever met, the president is obviously a fan, Carney says. "I think it would be hard not to be an admirer of her immense talent."
Houston's funeral plans have not been officially announced, but some news outlets are reporting that it will take place at the Prudential Center arena in Newark, New Jersey (Houston's hometown) on Friday, Feb. 17.
