Oft-troubled actress Sean Young was arrested late Sunday (Feb. 26) and charged with battery after the "Ace Ventura" star allegedly slapped a security guard outside the official Oscar after party.  

TMZ is reporting that Young was hanging around the entrance of the Governors Ball snapping photos with celebs like Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock when guards asked her where her ticket was. When they realized she wasn't invited, they asked her to leave. While Young departed, she soon returned. So when security asked her to go away again, she allegedly slapped the guard.

Young, who has had problems with alcohol in the past, explains the situation to the site. She says she was just talking to friends but "the Academy's lawyer...recommended that a private person's arrest be made...Shame on [the Academy] for that."

This isn't the first time Young has had trouble during award season. At the 2008 Director's Guild Awards, Young was forcibly removed from the event after she repeatedly heckled presenters and winners with statements like "Hurry up with the speech."
