Happy Presidents Day from Michelle Obama, Josh Hopkins, Adrienne Maloof and more
Presidents Day is not just a three-day weekend/excuse for a mini-vacation: The holiday honoring our Commanders in Chief is held annually on the third Monday of February, in the vicinity of both George Washington's and Abraham Lincoln's birthdays (Feb. 22 and Feb. 12, respectively). Fun fact: Technically, the federal holiday is still officially called "Washington's Birthday."First Lady Michelle Obama kicked off the holiday with a cute note to her husband, writing on her official Twitter account, "Happy President's Day to my personal favorite, @BarackObama. -mo." All together now: Awwwwwww.
"Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Adrienne Maloof tweeted her favorite Lincoln quote, saying, "'Whatever you are, be a good one.' - Abraham Lincoln. Happy Presidents Day!" Josh Hopkins of "Cougar Town" had a broad wish for all presidents, not just U.S. ones: "I hope all the presidents out there are having a great day."
Meanwhile, "Modern Family" star Eric Stonestreet went a little more irreverent, writing, "presidents day is my favorite holiday that i can never remember is why i didn't get mail."
And finally, check out how comedian Paula Poundstone spent her Monday: "I enjoyed sleeping in so much on Presidents' Day, I might just celebrate Vice Presidents' Day tomorrow."
