Demi Moore felt pressure 'to stay young and skinny,' partied too much and ate too little
While the details of Demi Moore's recent hospitalization remain unclear, People magazine is reporting that the actress was barely eating and partying too much in the days leading up to her medical scare. And it appears that part of Moore's concerns were related to something she has no control over - the effects of aging."As Demi got older, she convinced herself that she needed to stay young and skinny to remain attractive to her husband...She needed reassurance all the time that she was hot and sexy," the source tells People.
Another source says that Moore "was always fixated on being young. And the only thing that tied her to that, as she got older, was her marriage to a younger guy and hanging around young people."
Moore, 49, was rushed to the hospital on Jan. 23 for "exhaustion," although on the 911 call, the caller says that Moore had smoked something described as "not marijuana, but it's similar to incense." Moore and her future ex-husband Ashton Kutcher split in Nov. 2011 following rumors of Kutcher's repeated infidelity.
The actress has spoken publicly before about her self esteem issues. In a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar, Moore says, "What scares me is that I'm going to ultimately find out at the end of my life that I'm really not lovable, that I'm not worthy of being loved. That there's something fundamentally wrong with me...and that I wasn't wanted here in the first place."
