Daniel Radcliffe: 'Harry Potter's' lack of nominations is 'snobbery'

Over the past 10 years, Daniel Radcliffe and company have put out eight "Harry Potter" films, all of which are in the Top 200 grossing films of all time (adjusted for inflation). Combined, the franchise is the most successful series of films in history.

But outside of technical awards, the films have never even received nominations, let alone the actual awards. And Radcliffe thinks that's a shame.

"I don't think the Oscars like commercial films, or kids' films, unless they're directed by Martin Scorsese. I was watching 'Hugo' the other day and going, 'Why is this nominated and we're not?' I was slightly miffed. There's a certain amount of snobbery," Radcliffe tells Radio Times.

"It's kind of disheartening. I never thought I'd care," he adds, though he does admit, "How much of a pat on the back do we really need? We get paid stupid amounts of money."
