'Chronicle,' 'Woman in Black' compete for No. 1 in Box Office
The studios had low expectations for this weekend's Box Office numbers, but the teen superheroes of "Chronicle" and Daniel Radcliffe's first post-Potter film "Woman in Black" crushed expectations when it comes to ticket sales. Now in a neck-and-neck race for the No. 1 spot, the movies are both expected to gross over $20 mil for the weekend -- about double what was expected. "Chronicle" brought in $8.65 million on its opening night, with "Woman in Black" just behind it at $8.3.
Of course, with Super Bowl Sunday looming, this week's Box Office numbers aren't expected to shatter any records -- typically, a Super Bowl weekend doesn't bode well for the Box Office.
