'Bridget Jones 3' is totally still happening, just waiting for some script changes
Although rumors have surfaced recently that the third installment of the "Bridget Jones" movies is on the verge of falling apart, the studio insists that the movie is just undergoing a few changes before shooting later this year. According to Deadline, despite rumors that Hugh Grant has bailed on the project after "Bridesmaids" director Paul Feig jumped ship, "Bridget Jones's Baby" is very much happening. Grant, Colin Firth and Renee Zellweger are still on board, they're just waiting for some changes to the script before the movie starts shooting.
"Hugh is keen that 'Bridget Jones 3' happens, but Renee, Colin and he all have some issue with the present script. They are hoping to help work them out," says Grant's rep.
Production company Working Title head Tim Bevan echoes Grant's sentiment, saying, "Reports that Hugh Grant has exited 'Bridget Jones's Baby' are untrue. We are still working on the script hence the delay to the start of production, but the film is going ahead as planned."
Look for the movie to begin shooting later in 2012 with Peter Cattaneo in the director's chair.
