Adele was totally kidding about taking 5 years off

Nobody would've blamed Adele if she took an extra-long hiatus after sweeping the Grammy Awards Sunday night (Feb. 12). After all, six trophies in one night is plenty of validation for your life's work.

Thankfully, though, the singer took to her blog to say that what she told Vogue in the magazine's recent cover story -- that she planned to take five years off -- was so not true. In a post detailing her utter joy over her victorious Grammy night, she ended with a statement that definitely has us reassured.

"I've a few days off now, and then it's the Brit Awards here at home and then I'm straight into the studio," she writes. "BOYYAHH! 5 years? More like 5 days!"

All we have to say is PHEW. Because we were beginning to worry about the conundrum presented if Adele stops making new music: What do you cry along to when you're sad about Adele not making any albums if the queen of sad breakup music is in semi-retirement?

Thankfully, we don't have to worry about that just yet.
