Ryan Gosling a Golden Globes 2012 no show

Ryan Gosling could have won two Golden Globes on Sunday (Jan. 15) night. He didn't but he could have.

But despite being nominated for both lead actor in a comedy/musical ("Crazy Stupid Love") and lead actor drama ("The Ideas of March") Hollywood's current it boy was not in attendance.

"Ides of March" writer Beau Willimon pointed out that Gosling "does his own thing" on the red carpet but it doesn't appear Gosling was absent in an attempt to make fans' hearts grown fonder.

Rather the official word is that he's currently in Bangkok working on "Only God Forgives," a mixed martial arts movie from "Drive" director Nicolas Winding Refn.

There's always the Oscars. Or next year.
