Melissa McCarthy: No 'Bridesmaids' sequel without Kristen Wiig!

Recently we told you about the possibility that there would be a "Bridesmaids" sequel without writer/star Kristen Wiig. We took a poll about whether or not you'd be interested in seeing it and at the time of this article, almost 60 percent of you voted for "No way! She's the writer and the star. It wouldn't be nearly as funny without her."

It was proposed that breakout star Melissa McCarthy would be the focus of a sequel if Wiig didn't come back. Well, it doesn't look like that's going to happen. According to E! Online, McCarthy isn't exactly on board with the idea.

"God, I wouldn't want to," McCarthy tells the site at the Palms Springs International Film Festival gala. "I would never want to. I think it's a terrible idea." She says she didn't know what the studio was planning, saying "I don't anything about it. But I know that nobody wants to do it unless it's great. If it is, I will show up wherever those ladies are."
