Ewan McGregor in GQ: Is 2012 the 'Haywyire' star's year?

ewan-mcgregor-gq0112.jpgEwan McGregor burst on to the pop culture scene in 1996's "Trainspotting." Since then, his career has taken him from the indie forefront to the pinnacle of big budget filmmaking -- he starred in George Lucas' early 2000s "Star Wars" reboots.

In 2012, McGregor tells GQ in a new interview, he's got four films slated to hit theaters. The first, Steven Soderbergh's "Haywire," is due in theaters Jan. 20. That will be followed by "The Impossible," "Jack the Giant Killer" and a 3-D re-release of "The Phantom Menace."

Did we mention the 40-year-old also has four daughters at home yet still manages to take it all in stride?

"I never feel battered by it," he tells GQ. "I wouldn't have it any other way."

Still, what would he do if he walked away from acting?

"I like the idea of being a sculptor," he says. "Just me alone, making something--that solitary existence."
