Steve Guttenberg receives Hollywood Walk of Fame star
Steve Guttenberg, perhaps best known for the "Police Academy" movies, is receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday (Dec. 12). His star will be no. 2,455 and will be in front of the Police Activities League at 6411 Hollywood Boulevard, which is rather awesome.Guttenberg is also known for other 1980s hits "3 Men and a Baby" and its sequel and "Cocoon" and its sequel, "Short Circuit" and "Diner." As of late, he was on Season 2 of "Veronica Mars" and "Dancing With the Stars," and is currently starring on Broadway in "Relatively Speaking," to positive critical reviews.
He is also known for his off-camera philanthropy work. He started the Guttenhouse Project, which provides housing in south Los Angeles for at-risk foster care youth when they turn 18 and have nowhere else to go. He also organized a campaign to provide glasses for poor children whose families cannot afford eye care.
The ceremony begins at 11:30 a.m. in Los Angeles. Comedian Jon Lovitz is one of the scheduled speakers. We'll add pictures from the ceremony as soon as we have them.
Congratulations to Steve!
