'Star Trek: The Next Generation' helps insomniac geeks fall asleep

You know those machines that play noise to help you fall asleep? Ocean waves, rain forests, waterfalls ... all very new age and lovely. But what is an insomniac geek supposed to do? Speaking as the resident Zap2it geek, here is a recommendation for you. Engine noise. Yes, my nerdy friends. You can drift into dreamland to the sounds of the Enterprise from "Star Trek: The Next Generation."

An enterprising (and clearly very, very bored) YouTube user isolated the noise of the engine and put it on a 24 hour loop. No, we are not kidding. A 24 hour loop! Any enterprising (sorry) geeks out there want to make a sleep machine for us? Robot noises, dragon roars, the sound of a sword slicing through an Orc, lightsaber hums ... huh. It's suddenly becoming clear why we stay up all night and play "World of Warcraft."
