Selena Gomez: First statement since miscarriage

Selena Gomez has been quiet since cancelling her Christmas concert due to a "family emergency." It was widely reported that her mom Mandy suffered a miscarriage. Gomez has made her first statement since the sad news broke.

On her Facebook page, Gomez wrote:

Belated Merry Christmas everybody.. I can't thank you enough for all of your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate every one of you.. I love you all so much and we hope you and your family had a beautiful Christmas!

Gomez announced her mom's pregnancy back in November, telling her fans, "My mommys carrying my baby brother or sister : ) I'm the happiest girl in the world!" Gomez is scheduled to perform on MTV's New Year's Eve Special, but there is still no word about whether or not the family tragedy will prevent her from appearing.
