Santa tracker 2011: Follow St. Nick's Christmas Eve journey across the globe

santa-tracker-2011.jpgAs night falls across the globe this Christmas Eve, Santa Claus is making his way from the North Pole all across the world to deliver gifts to children.

And as has been the case for more than 50 years, you can follow his journey thanks to NORAD's Santa Tracker.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command has been following Kris Kringle's movements on Dec. 24 since the mid-1950s, with volunteers taking phone calls and offering updates to TV stations. The operation moved online in the late 1990s, and you can now follow it via Google maps and Google Earth, with several video check-ins along the way.

Santa Tracker has also adopted social media, so you can follow the bearded man's progress on Twitter, Facebook and Google+ as well.

At the time of this post, Santa was over Nepal as he makes his way across Asia. We have every confidence that he'll once again complete his journey and make many Christmas dreams come true.
