Michelle Pfeiffer's 'New Year's Eve' leads Friday box office
Score another win for splashy ensemble cast rom-coms. "New Year's Eve," the New York-set love fest starring -- among others -- Michelle Pfeiffer, Zac Efron, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Robert DeNiro, Halle Berry, Cary Elwes and Alyssa Milano -- raked in a respectable $5 million in ticket sales Friday (Dec. 9) to open the weekend box office. The Jonah Hill-fronted "The Sitter," clocked in second with $3.7 million, followed by "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" ($2.5 million), "The Muppets" ($1.6 million) and "Hugo" ($1.6 million).
Will "New Year's Eve" hold on to the top spot for the entire weekend? We'll let you know when we know.
