Michelle Duggar suffers a miscarriage
Sad news for the Duggar family.
Michelle Duggar, who was pregnant with her and husband Jim Bob's 20th child, announced that she has suffered a miscarriage. The mom of 19 tells People magazine that the couple found out at a routine doctor's appointment that Michelle had miscarried in the second trimester.
"After the appointment, we came back home and told the children," the "19 Kids and Counting" star tells People. "We had just been talking about baby names last night and they were getting excited about naming a boy or a girl. It has been a real sad disappointment."
She continues: "I feel like my heart broke telling my children. They have all been so excited about this baby and looking forward to April coming around and having a new little one in our arms. That was the most difficult."
The Duggars plan to hold a funeral service for their baby once they find out if it was a boy or a girl and choose a name.
The family announced on the "Today" show in November that they were expecting their 20th child. This is Michelle's second miscarriage; she lost a child during her second pregnancy while using birth control pills, which the family names as one of the reasons they decided to have so many children. Their last child, baby Josie, was born via an emergency C-section in 2009 and spent time in the hospital before coming home with her family.
Leave your condolences for the family. We'll certainly be thinking of them during this difficult time.
