Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez 'breaking up' on New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve is no time for a couple to fight, but that's exactly what's going to happen between Tween stars Justin Bieber and girlfriend Selena Gomez. The two have competing concerts scheduled for Times Square on Dec. 31.

MTV announced Monday (Dec. 12) that Gomez, along with fellow Disney Channel alum Demi Lovato, will perform at a live NYE special for MTV. The two will be joined by Jason Derulo as well as J Cole and Mac Miller. The show will be hosted by Lovato and Tyler Posey of "Teen Wolf."

Meanwhile the "Coiffed One" has a show of his own going on. Bieber will be performing at "New Year's Rockin' Eve." That Times Square Show also features Florence + the Machine, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Pitbull and will.i.am.

Hopefully their relationship can survive such challenges.
