Ellen DeGeneres buys Brad Pitt's Malibu home

brad-pitt-ellen-degeneres-show-moneyball.jpgEllen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi recently showed off their incredible Beverly Hills mansion in a cover story for Architectural Digest magazine... and then they promptly put the home on sale. It was the seventh home they'd owned together.

"We never had a house when I was growing up," DeGeneres said. "We always rented. But my father would dream, and we used to look at houses all the time. I'd pick out which bedroom would be mine and get all excited. The first thing I did when I made money was buy a house."

Now, they've chosen home No. 8 -- and they bought it from Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The $12 million mansion in Malibu is a considerable downsize from their previous $49 million estate. The new place overlooks the ocean, has a pool, a tennis court, and private beach access. It's got four bedrooms and four bathrooms. (No idea how the Jolie-Pitt brood fit in there.)
