Kelly Ripa signs a 5 year deal for 'Live'

Regis Philbin is leaving "Live! With Regis and Kelly" next week, but the big news today is that Kelly Ripa has just signed a 5 year contract with Disney-ABC Domestic Television.

According to Deadline, the perky lady who clearly doesn't sleep (and isn't afraid to spoof herself on that very subject) is now locked in at ABC until at least 2017.  Rippa, who just celebrated her 10th anniversary on "Live!" will be working solo until a co-host can be found. The name will temporarily be changed to "Live! With Kelly" until then.

In the meantime, Kelly will be joined by a series of temporary co-hosts, starting with Jerry Seinfeld on November 21st-23rd. Ripa won a Daytime Emmy for best talk show host this past summer. We'd love to know how she does it.
