Ethan Zohn: Former 'Survivor' winner's cancer returns
The 37-year-old had been in remission from Hodgkin's lymphoma for nearly two years, but was struck a devastating blow Sept. 14 when doctors told him that cancer had returned to his body.
"It's localized in my lung area," the 37-year-old tells People. "But it's good that it's not all over my body."
Zohn was first diagnosed with cancer in 2009. He tells People that he started a new form of chemo in October that hopefully won't make his hair fall out, and in a few weeks he'll undergo a stem-cell transplant from one of his brothers.
Fellow "Survivor" winner Jenna Morasca, Zohn's girlfriend of eight years and recent teammate on "The Amazing Race," is taking the news as well as can be expected. "We're both filled with fear and anger and anxiety and gratitude and frustration," Zohn says. "But there's so much love there. It's this whole spectrum of emotions."
Talk about not letting cancer get him down -- Zohn says he's still planning on running the New York City Marathon on Nov. 6 to raise money for his charity, Grassroot Soccer. "The doctors think I'm crazy but they gave me the okay," he says. "Cancer isn't going to slow me down."
