'Breaking Dawn' expected to make at least $110 million
In case the Twi-mania hadn't tipped you off, the first installment of "Breaking Dawn" comes out Nov. 18 and Hollywood box office experts expect it to make a ton of money. ("A ton" is a technical Hollywood term, obviously.)According to Deadline, Summit Entertainment, the production company behind the "Twilight" movies, expects "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" to nab between $110 million and $125 million when it opens opposite "Happy Feet Two" and George Clooney's "The Descendants" at the box office this weekend.
That's already an impressive haul and would rank "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" just below "New Moon" in terms of "Twilight" box office, but rival studios say that's actually a very safe estimation. Deadline reports that other studios say the movie could make upwards of $140 million.
"Breaking Dawn" will be released in more than 4,000 theaters in North America this weekend, and begins its international runs starting today (Nov. 16).
