'The Hunger Games' character posters make us wish March 23 came a whole lot sooner

Aside from some intimidating profiles of Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence) and her two suitors, Gale and Peeta (Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, respectively), we also caught our first glimpses at people like Haymitch (Woody Harrelson), Effie (Elizabeth Banks), Cinna (Lenny Kravitz), Rue and Cato. Effie, as first seen on EW, is pictured above.

The shots of Katniss, Gale and Peeta are great and all, but we've had time to digest those images. We're way more excited at the prospect of seeing how the production team chose to translate Effie's crazy look (which was probably different in the mind of every reader), and how Harrelson's slacker-stoner vibe is actually kind of perfect for ornery drunk Haymitch.

While we would've preferred a trailer, these images will give us plenty of fodder for speculation until the studio releases some actual footage from the film.
