Steven Seagal hired to help patrol U.S. border

American borders are "Under Siege" from illegal immigration. But no one is "Above the Law," and action star turned lawman Steven Seagal is out to prove just that.

Seagal, 59, has been sworn in as the newest deputy in Hudspeth, Texas. According to reports, he will be working full time to help secure the U.S.-Mexico border, as illegal immigration is a crime that is "Hard to Kill."

Most surprisingly, it wasn't an "Executive Decision" to appoint Seagal -- he sought the position himself.

"It became very clear to me that Mr. Seagal is not in this for the celebrity or the publicity," says Sheriff Arvin West. "He's like the rest of us that live down here; he has a sincere passion for his country and he wants to do more."

So you could say that Seagal is "Out For Justice."

Seagal arrived in Sierra Blanca on Monday (Oct. 10) for a swearing-in and a glimpse at the "Fire Down Below."

"He got really a taste of what we go through down here...we ran about 50 miles of the border and Deputy Seagal got a chance to meet the community and where he's going to be working," says spokesman Gary Fleming.

So watch out, would-be criminals. We all know you have to answer to God, but now you'll be "Under Siege 2."

Also, "Machete."
