Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon, Thurston Moore separate

And we thought rock and roll and love were forever.

Apparently not for Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore. The rock power-couple is separating after 27 years of marriage and one daughter, 17-year-old Coco, according to a statement released by their label, Matador Records.

The future of their band, reports Spin, is unclear.

"Sonic Youth, with both Kim and Thurston involved, will proceed with its South American tour dates in November," reads the statement. "Plans beyond that tour are uncertain. The couple has requested respect for their personal privacy and does not wish to issue further comment."
