'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows' trailer: Blowin' up real good
The star of the newest trailer for "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" is Guy Ritchie.
Ritchie directed "Sherlock Holmes" in 2009 and is also at the helm for the sequel, which opens Dec. 16. The trailer is full of Ritchie trademarks -- with fast-slow-fast editing, freeze frames of bullets popping out of guns and trees exploding and desaturated colors.
And yes, a good amount of that stuff is pretty cool. But what really made things click in the first film, and does again here, is the chemistry between stars Robert Downey Jr. (as Holmes) and Jude Law (as Watson). They haven't lost a step in between films.
"A Game of Shadows" also stars Jared Harris ("Mad Men") as Professor Moriarty, Holmes' greatest adversary, and Noomi Rapace (the Swedish "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo"). Rachel McAdams also returns as Irene Adler, and we'll get a glimpse of Holmes' brother Mycroft (Stephen Fry) as well.
