'Sexy and the City' star Kristin Davis adopts a baby girl

On "Sex and the City," fertility issues led Charlotte York and her husband to adopt. In regards to the adoption, life imitates art.

According to PEOPLE, Kristin Davis, 46, adopted Gemma Rose Davis through domestic adoption a few months ago. "This is something I have wanted for a very long time...having this wish come true is even more gratifying than I ever had imagine. I feel so blessed."

Davis' social responsibility extends past adoption; she is a global ambassador for Oxfam, an organization dedicated to alleviating poverty as well as supporting the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a haven for elephants and rhinos.
