Rapper Soulja Boy arrested for possession of drugs and a firearm
Apparently, rapper Soulja Boy decided that to be more like a real soldier, he ought to carry some weapons. How's that working out for you, Soulja Boy?
The 21-year-old "Crank That" rapper (real name DeAndre Cortez Way) was traveling Interstate 20 near the Alabama/Georgia state line when he and his entourage were pulled over in a Cadillac Escalade; police uncovered marijuana and pistols in the car. The rapper, three bodyguards and the Escalade's driver were each arrested on felony charges of possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm.
A puppy was also found in the car; it was turned over to the driver's relatives according to a police spokesperson.
We think the takeaway from this story is this: if you absolutely must drive your drug and gun filled luxury SUV down the freeway, do your very best to obey traffic laws and thus, avoid a routine traffic stop. And also, hide your drugs and guns better.
