New 'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows' posters released

We're creeping ever closer to the holiday season which can only mean one thing: More Sherlock Holmes, natch. To that end, Warner Bros. has given us an early gift -- two new character posters for the next Holmes installment, "A Game of Shadows."

In the first, a bowler-wearing Robert Downey Jr. clutches a cool steampunk looking automatic pistol of some sort as a smoking Eiffel Tower looms in the background.

The second features Holmes' right hand man, Watson, as portrayed by Jude Law, who is looking totally tough as he wields -- well, we're not sure what that is. Anyhow, he too is standing before a smoke-billowing landmark -- London's Big Ben.

"A Game of Shadows" hits theaters on Dec. 16.
