In her breakout hit, "Rehab," Amy Winehouse said of her father, "he's tried to make me go to rehab and I won't go." Now, Mitch Winehouse will have his chance to fully explain his attempts.

HarperCollins has bought the rights to "Amy, My Daughter," a memoir by Mitch Winehouse, the father of the late neo-soul singer. Winehouse will discuss his daughter from childhood to music stardom to her eventual death; he will also explore his daughter's ongoing struggles with addiction. Proceeds from the book will benefit the Amy Winehouse Foundation, a charity established to "provide help, support or care for young people, especially those who are in need by reason of ill health, disability, financial disadvantage, or addiction."

Mitch Winehouse views the book a part of his mourning process: "I feel that I need to write this book to tell the true story of Amy and to help with my personal recovery." It is scheduled for publication in summer 2012.
