Kris Humphries loses money in investment scam ... by one of his wedding guests

Kim Kardashian's new husband, Kris Humphries, has reportedly lost a good chunk of money in an investment scam. Even worse, the guy alleged to have perpetrated the fraud was a guest at the Kardashian-Humphries wedding.

Andrey C. Hicks was arrested Friday (Oct. 28) in Canada on wire-fraud charges, TMZ reports. Federal authorities say he ran a $1.7 million investment scam; Humphries reportedly gave him "hundreds of thousands of dollars."

Authorities say the 27-year-old Hicks told investors he was a Harvard graduate who ran a billion-dollar hedge fund. The hedge fund doesn't exist, and though Hicks did attend Harvard for three semesters, TMZ says he was kicked out of the university because of poor grades.

Hicks was one of the hundreds of guests at Humphries and Kardashian's made-for-TV wedding in August.

A rep for the NBA player tells Us Weekly, "Kris Humphries is the victim of an investment fraud. He is working with law enforcement authorities and will not have any further comment until the matter is resolved."
