Jor-el lives! Russell Crowe makes Superman set appearance
Well, he's not your father's Jor-el, that's for sure. But, in the latest Superman adaptation, "Man of Steel" (not to be confused with "Buns of Steel"), Russell Crowe is playing the superhero's dad. On Monday (Oct. 3), Crowe was photographed in his costume while on the Vancouver set of the film. Despite a flurry of tweets in recent weeks about his strict exercise regimen, Crowe is seen smoking in some of the photos and the U.K.'s Daily Mail comes right out and says it: "the star looks decidedly paunchy."
The new movie, due in theaters in 2013, stars Henry Cavill in the title role. Amy Adams will play Superman's love interest, Lois Lane. Also on board: Michael Shannon as General Zod, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Superman's adoptive human parents, the Kents, and Laurence Fishburne as Daily Planet editor Perry White.
