Johnny Depp willing to take 'the stupid money' for movies

Here's the thing about artistic integrity. It doesn't pay very well. Here's the thing about the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise. It has grossed $3.7 billion worldwide. So, you do the math.

Top o' the A-list actor Johnny Depp admits in November's Vanity Fair that "[b]asically, if they're going to pay me the stupid money right now, I'm going to take it." It's hard to argue with that logic (and that honesty). Not to mention Depp has quasi-noble intentions: "At this point, it's for my kids."

It is rumored that Depp's profit-sharing deal with Disney fetched him nearly $300 million for his involvement with the Pirates flicks. Looks like Depp's kids will be driven to school in a diamond-encrusted hovercraft driven by endangered albino pandas.
