Johnny Depp on board for Dr. Seuss biopic

johnny-depp.jpg

Something tells us that Johnny Depp will be right at home amongst the Truffulas and the Heffalumps.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, slightly off-kilter A-lister Johnny Depp has signed on to produce an upcoming biopic of legendary children's author Dr. Seuss (real name Theodor Geisel). Depp's Infinitum Nihil company will co-produce the film with the potential for Depp to topline as the author himself.

Depp has already portrayed a famous children's author, "Peter Pan" scribe J.M. Barrie in the 2004 movie "Finding Neverland." The result? A handful of Oscar nominations. But the Seuss role seems like a perfect fit for the charming thesp. Dare we say a Seuss/Depp flick would actually outdo the previously existing Seuss films "The Cat in the Hat" and "The Grinch." We only cordially ask that Tim Burton sits this one out.
