Johnny Depp finally agrees to Larry King interview, produces Lifetime drama
Famous for being fan-friendly, Johnny Depp has never been much of a friend to the press, so the fact that he agreed to a sit-down with Larry King as he promotes his film "The Rum Diary" is... well, a big deal.Depp was one of a handful of celebrities that King had on his wishlist. "We had a great time yesterday with Johnny," King tweeted. "He could not have been nicer! We taped the interview in his private office."
In addition to opening up about his life, his work, and his relationship with Hunter S. Thompson, Depp shows King his personal paintings and memorabilia in the special, which is set to air on Oct. 16 at 8 p.m. EST on CNN.
In other Depp news, the actor has signed on to produce a drama series for Lifetime with Graham King. The series will chronicle the true story of William Wilkerson, a compulsive gambler and film exec who went on to own nightclubs found The Hollywood Reporter.
