Happy Halloween! Google doodle says it with pumpkins
Google wishes you a happy Halloween with its homepage doodle on Monday (Oct. 31), and it's more animated than usual.
The doodle is actually a 40-second YouTube video, showing a time lapse of people carving six giant pumpkins at the company's headquarters in Silicon Valley. (Side note: We'd really like to have that job. Are these people Google employees or independent contractors?)
They work their way through the day, joined by a couple dozen other people -- including someone in a Santa suit and another person dressed like Uncle Sam. It makes us wonder if they shot a whole bunch of holiday stuff in one day. The payoff comes at the 30-second mark, when the sun goes down and the pumpkins light up to spell out "Google."
Happy Halloween, everyone. Take it easy on the candy.
