monsters-inc-disney.jpgIf there's one thing that Hollywood is good at, it's copying a moneymaking idea. And the newest item to add to that list is making 3D versions of successful animated films.

Disney announced Tuesday (Oct. 4) plans to release 3D version of some of their popular animated titles. This comes within weeks of the release of "The Lion King 3D," which has already grossed $80 million in the U.S. alone.

The studio said the next films they plan to 3D will be "Beauty and the Beast," "Finding Nemo," "Monsters, Inc." and "The Little Mermaid."

Following is their release schedule:

- "Beauty and the Beast" - January 13, 2012
- "Finding Nemo" - September 14, 2012
- "Monsters, Inc." - January 18, 2013
- "The Little Mermaid" - September 13, 2013
