'Die Hard 5': Bruce Willis soon to read with actors auditioning for John McClane Jr.

dano-foster-getty.jpgWith word that a new "Die Hard" film is set for a Valentine's Day 2013 release, it's time to find the key role, that of John McLane Jr. Variety is reporting there are some choices already being considered to play alongside Bruce Willis in the action film.

Paul Dano ("There Will Be Blood"), Ben Foster ("3:10 to Yuma") and Aaron Paul ("Breaking Bad") are reportedly each being talked about for the role. The story also states that actors will soon begin reading with Willis as they audition for the part.

While details are limited about "A Good Day to Die Hard," Fox film CEO Tom Rothman said that whoever plays the younger McClane will have to have screen chemistry with Willis and that the tone will be similar to that of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith."

Rothman also added there's an interest using whoever plays McClane Jr. to extend the franchise.

"If we do it right and we introduce a new personality, that does open it up for the future...that's going to be a casting challenge," Rothman said in a radio interview on Wednesday (Oct. 12). "We gotta get just the right guy."

The film will start shooting in January 2012.
