Box Office: 'Real Steel' reigns supreme with a $27.3 million opening weekend
The Hugh Jackman-Evangeline Lilly robot boxing movie "Real Steel" took the weekend box office crown with a $27.3 million opening, according to studio estimates Sunday (Oct. 9). Its worldwide total is up to $49.4, as it has earned $22.1 million overseas."The Ides of March" political thriller starring George Clooney and Ryan Gosling was runner-up, as it opened with a soft $10.4 million weekend. "Dolphin Tale," which had been the box office leader the weekend before, fell to no. 3 at $9.2 million, bringing its total earnings to $49 million.
