It's been called America's version of a royal wedding: the daughter of a political dynasty weds the heir to one of American fashion's most prestigious empires. There were a few key differences, though, for the Sunday (Sept. 4) wedding of Lauren Bush and David Lauren.Below, we highlight just a few:
Kate and William's wedding was attended by heads of state, assorted royals and celebrities.
David and Lauren's attendees included former heads of state (her uncle George W. Bush) and, according to Styleite, "dapper New York-based bachelor Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia."
Kate and William married in a lavish ceremony at London's Westminster Abbey.
Lauren and David married on his father's Colorado property, the Double RL Ranch. Workers built a chapel (and a baseball diamond?) especially for the event.
Kate and William's wedding guests spent the day after their nuptials attending a luncheon thrown by Wills' grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
Lauren and David's guests will travel by van to Colorado's Ouray Fairgrounds to see "bucking broncos and steer scrambles" at the local rodeo.
Kate's dress was designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen, one of the leading design houses in Great Britain.
Lauren's dress was designed by future father-in-law Ralph Lauren, one of the leading designers in the United States.
Kate and William's guests wore black ties and over-the-top hats. (See gallery below.)
Lauren and David's guests were instructed that the dresscode would be "black tie with a Western twist."
Among the performers at Kate and William's reception: The Official Harpist to the Prince of Wales.
Among the performers at Lauren and David's celebration: Michael Martin-Murphy ("Wildfire").
After marriage, Kate gained a distinctive new title: Duchess of Cambridge.
After marriage, Lauren gained a distinctive new last name: Lauren.

Oh please, nothing can trump prince William's wedding. I dont even know, or care who this chick is, except that her uncle is " W" and never heard of her. How come this was not plastered all over the news for the last 8 months like PW's wedding was. I love Ralph Lauren's polo shirts though and buy them for my twin sons.
This is non news unless you were invited to either wedding, which I'm sure none of us were.
